[TODO: This article is currently under construction and undergoing a complete overhaul and reorganization.
Don't worry if any information disappears, I promise it'll all be there once I get things sorted.
The thread links will be right there the whole time, anyways.

Something something DEM TEETH.
In a technologically advanced underground world, a thief named Hok steals a rare and illegal compilation A.I., represented by the voices of /quest/. With its help, he and the insanely deadly Rokoa begin a profitable string of disasters, death, and explosions. Then again, that seems to be a common occupation here.
Current stats and inventory for Polo Quest can be found here.
This article contains spoilers! You were warned. |
Major Story Arcs
Asteroid Quest ends up as something of a large, complicated thing, encompassing several major plot arcs, lots of characters, perspective swapping, at least two different planet(oid)s, and different time zones. The fact that intermissions and side stories have a tendency to grow larger then the main quest doesn't help any.
To make things easier for the reader (and so you can do something as simple as looking up who a character was again with incurring lots and lots of spoilers) this article has been broken into parts, by story arc.
AsteroidQuest Part 1
In his attempts to escape a storage box he's been sealed inside, Hok, miklik thief extraordinaire, discovers a rare and illegal compilation AI. With the CAI's questionable and somewhat erratic advice and extraordinary hacking abilities, he embarks on the previously mentioned string of disasters, death, and explosions.
AsteroidQuest Intermission
In in dangerous wilds of the neumono homeworld, a green native and an offworld tourist climb a spire of the Untameable Needles on what is supposed to be a simple hunting trip. If the thread-count didn't tip you off, things end up being more complicated then they bargained for.
AsteroidQuest Part 2
We return to the Asteroid. Things pick up at the trade hub the morning after the events of thread 1, and we get down to the the business of managing the trade hub and making zenny. No longer playing exclusively as the CAI, our perspective bounces around a bit. We meet some new characters too, where we find out what it's like working for the space mafia.
Polo Quest
Back to Polo and neumono homeworld. It's been several months since her last mission, and now she's been assigned to an inspection team as part of the effort to tie up some loose ends from last time.
Polo Quest has a separate page for tracking current stats and inventory.
Three Stripes Intermission
Three Stripes and his neumono buddies adjust to life outside the spire and away from the Salikai and deal with strange outsider neumono instead.
Chronology
The chronology of events in AsteroidQuest is somewhat complicated; we change time zones nearly as often as we change character perspective. As such, the order that threads are presented in is not necessarily the same as the order in which events occurred.
A timeline is available, but as the details are something of a spoiler, it has been given it's own page. After all, uncertainty as to exactly when and where we are in the course of the story adds to the excitement, and the speculation is part of the fun!
ITQ Guide
This quest makes fairly extensive use of Inside the Quest, providing a good deal of background information on the characters and setting, as well as often filling in unanswered questions, tying up loose ends, and providing epilogues between plot arcs. Rokoa first shows up near the end of thread 6, and the rest of the cast appear frequently throughout thread 7 and thread 8.
While the simplest approach may be to simply read the ITQ threads in their entirety, for readers who are concerned with spoilers, or who wish to try and preserve the original order of discovery, a full list of ITQ posts has been provided. These posts are listed in order, broken into groups by the threads they ran consecutive to, between, or after.
Other Stuff
Pending.
Poker Game
A nsfw flash poker game where you play as Polo against Pilon and Rokoa with intentionally terrible AI and an empathic advantage. It's only an alpha, and there are some bugs, but it's still good for some fun.
The game is available in fixed size and with image scaling. For the best results (resolution permitting) it may be advisable to play the fixed version at full screen with a local flash player, rather than your web browser.

Fanart
Polokoa Quest
A full fledged fanquest, by Jukashi. This spinoff takes place in an absurd, over the top alternate universe where Polo and Rokoa managed to end up fused into one person. It's recommended you read at least through the second Asteroid story arc if you want to recognize all the characters who show up.
