Formixer's already our roommate, no need to overstretch our ambitions. Familiarity can breed contempt.

Good point. It's important that we don't look like a creepy stalker when we're being a creepy stalker. We'll save the "get Gilded Goose as a live-in celebrity crush" plan as a last resort in case she doesn't have any other housing options conveniently available.

At the very least, we'll be able to find out where she lives. That's going to be very good to know. If she's in danger and needs a Maverick Hunter to save her, I mean.

I just realized something. She says "blue wasn't our color". We wore yellow in those ads. Did she mean our arm and leg bands? Or is she talking about some other job besides the poster we've got here?

Don't confront her about this or she'll know to choose her words more carefully. Let her think we're obliviously starstruck and give her more chances to make mistakes. She doesn't seem in the mood for small talk anyway, but that might change soon.

I'm suspicious, but I don't know why a liar would make that mistake. How would she know we were an actor in environmental PSAs but not what we were wearing in them? And if she didn't know that, why would she try to bluff by giving us an oddly specific critique of a wardrobe she hasn't seen?

If we need to use her name before she does, call her Goldie Goose. The real Gilded Goose would spot the mistake immediately, but an impostor may not be so used to her name. Perhaps when we're asking her for the info on her ID.

Ooh. Yes.
Good catch.
Admittedly, i thought it was a bikini but it was a neat onepiece.

The goldie goose ploy is a good one, if stabitha can bring herself to try.

Social engineering at its finest.
1) Ask if she needs anything to make her comfortable while she waits.
2) Close the shutters. Call for guards.
3) Order one guard to go look for her ID and papers.
4) Call the head office on their mascot's current location.
5) If all of the above succeeds, ask her out for dinner and let her in.

Presumably gilded goose considers the gold outfit with a red gem in it a default and is only commenting on the blue highlights because gold should be everyone's color.

>Ask if she needs anything to make her comfortable while she waits.
Another good idea. Letting her ask for accomodations will give her more chances to slip up and ask for something out-of-character, like a luxury energy drink that the real Gilded Goose actually hates. An admirer like Stabitha would know things about her that an impostor wouldn't!

Stab Unicorn knows Pre-screenings are common enough.
She got into Eden herself on a pre-screening.
now that she thinks about it, it's odd that Dr.Eve and Smart Apploid never mentioned it.
>>
No. 1118044 ID: 94d85e

Very odd indeed she would have forgotten to mention that, how are we supposed to admit pre-screened reploids if they don't carry their IDs?
Well, do you know Sinnick too?
Call Pipo and ask where she sent that ID.

Tell Gilda you'll be back in a jiffy. Sinnick may have just forgotten to hand it to you... Do we know who Sinnick is? If not, go ask Pipo. Then we can contact the hotel to get that room number.

Tell Gourdon not to let anyone through under any circumstances while you're away. Gilda needs to wait for her ID and room number anyway, and it's not safe for more than one reploid to be in the interview room... well, I guess if Gilda steps out Gourdon can start letting humans through, that's easy. Does he have a bio scanner to identify them?

I think Gilded Goose is being used by a tailgater. She might be innocent, but Sinnick (Santa-themed Satanist Maverick?), the trojan AI stowed in her backup hard drive isn't!

>Pre-screenings are common enough.
Well, that was a whole lot of scheming gone to waste. You've got to tell us these things, Stabitha! You're the part of our design that knows our history and the world!

I still blame the apple. This should have come up in our training. Now, how do we deflect the blame for this so we don't end up even more embarrassed in front of Gilda!

"Terribly sorry for the confusion. My superiors neglected to inform me of how these things are meant to be handled. I may need to make some calls to sort this out. Is there anything that could make you more comfortable while you wait?"

Can't forget that it's our job to be tricky. All signs say this is the real Gilded Goose, but you can't be too careful with Mavericks on the loose.

Now let's get started sorting this out. Simple solution first: check our work station and computer files in case there's something like a drawer full of pre-screened ID cards or a conveniently available digital record that we somehow overlooked. If not, we'll need to track down her ID, starting with a call to Pipo to find out where she takes the cards she handles.

Stupid apple. Ignoring vital info he's supposed to be giving us, making trouble for Gilded Goose, making us look incompetent in front of Gilded Goose...

Wait wait wait. Just to be sure, if we went through the pre-screening process, does Gilda's description match with how it went for us?

beg forgiveness, its your first day after all.

Check with Pipo where that ID is. Logically it should be here in the booth so it can be returned when the person checks in.

Also at some point you might offer Stitch in Time card as something she would be interested in

2, what did Sinnick tell her?
3, who is Sinnick exactly?
>>

>>1118333
I can't hate Pipo for her good heart, but I can certainly look down on her loose lips. Luckily for us, her unprofessional behavior is a convenient distraction from our own.

"Gilded Goose is here right now and waiting for her ID card back. What did you do with it? Where exactly is it now?"

There we go. Now she's going to tell us where to find the pre-screened ID cards that the stupid apple didn't talk about during training and Stabitha will look like she's cleaning up after someone else's incompetence. Then Gilda will like us for helping her instead of blaming us for holding her up! See, friends are useful when we need someone to take a fall for us!

And who is this Sinnick fellow? Is he anyone we know? What did he tell her, and should we be worried?

>>1118334
The "Goldie" thing has run its course. She didn't take the bait, so there's no reason to bother her any further with the wrong name.

>>1118335
No, no, we can use this.

"Ugh, personal gossip can be such a bother. But I suppose you've had to deal with that too, haven't you?"

Establish commonality to build trust. Gilded Goose is a celebrity, so of course she'd know what it's like when people share intimate details about her that she doesn't want getting out. Don't mention how many of those details we know.

Or if we're really lucky, she might be interested. Not likely, but it's a nice thought.

Well, i was trying to think of the most embarrassing thing that would require special underwear for a reploid.
On reflection your take with her mimicking human biological reproductive activity for recreational purposes is a very deviant behaviour for a reploid... far more embarrassing than a leaky gasket.
I wonder what theyre really for though...
Im guessing reinforced for combat purposes.

Sinnick is the reploid in charge of Eden's cyber security and virus protection... but mostly he spends his time resolving IT problems and insulting people.

The panties she got had a rare out of print pattern she likes.

She can't wait, she's very important! She'll just have to go through while this debacle is resolved and Stabitha will deliver the ID as soon as it is located.

Oh no, Goldie is a victim of the callous cogs of bureaucracy! Or a greedy Goldie fan. Without her ID, Goldie can't get in and anyone could pretend to BE Goldie... Goldie Goldie Goldie, what are we to do with you?
Pipo is closer to Sinnick and her whole job is rapid delivery. Tell her to go back in and shake that ID out of Sinnick if she has to, you have Goldie right here!
>>
No. 1118947 ID: 70f58a

Alright, so if we want the ID we have to go in person and make Gilda wait longer. Ask her if she wants it back enough to wait while you go see if Sinnick still has it. It's not absolutely required.
Does Pipo know Gilda's room number by any chance? Or did Sinnick handle that? We may have to call the hotel to find out, otherwise.
>>
No. 1118950 ID: efbb23

Did the pre-screening program actually get cancelled or is sinnick just being lazy?
>>
No. 1118951 ID: 253500

The purpose of the screening is to determine whether a reploid is a maverick. An ID's purpose is to identify someone who otherwise can't be. Gilded Goose is clearly identifiable without an ID. But, the reason Stabitha wants the ID is to check whether someone is disguising their identity, which Gilded Goose clearly isn't. In other words, the ID is irrelevant.
What is relevant is GG's attitude towards humans. While Pipo tracks down Sinnick, Stabitha can conduct an interview to determine whether GG is a maverick. According to GG, she's already had an interview with Sinnick, but we haven't gotten confirmation from anybody else that's happened.
She can ask open-ended hypothetical questions like "A human trips beside you and twists their ankle. What would your response to that be?"
If GG refuses to at least call for help, that would look bad.
>>
No. 1118956 ID: 2f41db

>>1118925
Oh dear.
Best case scenario: sinnik is a dick and he was messing with GG. The id can be found.

Worst case: its really gone and GG is out of luck.

Thankyou for solving the mystery of your panties stabitha. Im glad youre not incontinent.
>>

Okay, there was a pre-screening program, but it was shut down. When was it shut down, and when did Goldie send in the ID? If it was while the program was still active, we can let her in and have the ID delivered to her. If not, we need to go get the ID, because the pre-screening wasn't valid.
>>
No. 1118968 ID: b4c241

>>1118925
Looks like it's our lucky day after all! Gilded Goose has been caught in a legal snarl, and we're in a position to make life harder or much easier for her. Instead of looking incompetent, we'll earn her gratitude for helping her out!

"Well, the bad news is that the pre-screening program has been cancelled and I don't have access to your ID card. The good news is that we have a real employee named Sinnick here, so your card is hopefully still in the bureaucracy somewhere. Now, there are a couple of things I can do to help sort out this mess for you."

Offer Gilda a choice, to give her a little sense of control over her bad situation. The first option is that she can wait here while we go talk to Sinnick and find out what he did with the ID card that he was supposed to be delivering to us. The second option is that we put the ID aside for now, simply confirm what hotel room she's staying at, let her in and deliver it to her later. Which would she prefer, and is there something we could do to make her more comfortable while she waits?

Don't forget that last question. It's our job to bait Mavericks. We always bait Mavericks.

>Stabitha likes rare fancy undergarments
Looks like I was half right, then. Don't worry, we'll have someone to share them with sooner or later.

>>1118932
>>1118967
>Goldie
She prefers "Gilda". She didn't take that bait, so she's either a smart impostor, or a rich and attractive celebrity whom we do not want to upset. A reploid in need is a reploid in our pocket, but only if we know how to handle them!

It seems like Sinnick gave Pipo all the IDs he had, Pipo's just a courier, she doesn't have the authority to make demands of anyone anyway. if Stab Unicorn wants to follow up on the situation with Sinnik she'll have to do it herself.

Stab Unicorn lets Pipo go for now.

Honestly, that's a totally justified reaction from Gilda. I don't know what sort of authority figure would leave innocent, law-abiding reploids stuck in a broken system where they could be mistaken for Mavericks, but it's certainly not one who belongs in our administration.

I bet it's that stupid apple's fault somehow. No idea how his human partner puts up with it. I almost wish he would go Maverick one of these days so we could skewer him.

"Believe me, I'm as frustrated by this whole mess as you are. Rest assured that I'll pass on your complaints to whatever idiot is responsible for it. Before I get on that, I could at least get you through to your hotel room if you'd like. Should I meet you there once I get your things back, or would you rather wait here?"

Once we've gotten her as comfortable as we can, we're going to march right up to Sinnick and... politely ask him a few questions about his interview with Gilded Goose. When and where did it happen, how did it go, and what did he do with her ID card and luggage? Don't take our justified anger out on him quite yet; it's a Maverick Hunter's job to investigate incidents and ensure that blame is assigned to the correct target before we start stabbing people.

I really wish we could stab someone right now. I'm all charged up with justice energy and there aren't any Mavericks around to retire with it! Maybe the next reploid will be a Maverick.

>>1118981
Light I wish we could get away with that. But Gilda's already in a bad mood and has probably seen enough of us for one day. Maybe we'll get a chance to show her the more enjoyable side of Eden once we finally manage to get her inside.

You can't give in to peer pressure. This could be an obvious case of social engineering, and the humans will fire you if they realize you'd cave in to reputation; Mavericks have infiltrated stronger safehouses with flimsier methods.

However this falks, were going to have to go and see sinnik
Goldie looks like a special case in that refusal could result in damage to edens reputation if they end up having a hissy fit and, oh boy, can a goose hiss when it wants to.
So, stabitha, theres got to be a PR department here.
Bounce them a message saying that GG is here and if this id is not found, your instructions would mean you HAVE to bar entry, but you can see that would cause potential issues for the PR dept, so you thought it best to give them a chance to either have a human in authority directly countermand your instructions for this entrant or prepare for the PR meltdown.
Then sinnik.
Need to hustle on this one miss fancypants.
