Dwarf Fortress, a.k.a. Dorf Fort, is a game so complex that it can cause spontaneous destruction to the cerebral cortex. It has no graphical interface by default, instead using ASCII characters. The first time you play, you will die. This is not optional. That said, this is one of the best games of all time. It is update almost constantly and has amazing levels of detail. Things don't always work the way they should, but that's part of the fun.
